Success on collaboration!

It’s a tricky time in December to get attention as a Not-For-Profit, the landscape is crowded with charities asking for donations. But this campaign cut through and achieved successful earned and social media.

Key PR and media opportunities secured included:

  • Sunday Star-Times and The Post
  • Newstalk ZB news
  • New Zealand Woman’s Weekly
  • With key content, including a media released, leveraged widely across owned and shared channels of the organisation and its partners, including through social media, websites and EDMs.

Philanthropy New Zealand teamed up with Government and members to showcase inspiring stories of philanthropy from across Aotearoa and to share information to help more people give effectively.

A good news story highlighting that the people Aotearoa are doers and that together (private, public and individuals) we can make a difference. Especially important in tough financial times, when many people are feeling glum.

In addition to successful earned media coverage, key relationships were built and strengthened. Philanthropy New Zealand CE Rahul Watson Govindan, Minister for the Community and Voluntary Sector Louise Upston, Gattung Foundation’s executive director Angela Gattung and I Have a Dream Charitable Trust founder Scott Gilmour were among those participating in the campaign. Along with Simplicity Foundation, Te Rourou/One Aotearoa Foundation, Southern Cross Health Trust, Community Foundations New Zealand, The Gift Trust, Christchurch Foundation, Borrin Foundation, Terra Nova and Fair Food.
